DENVER—The bids will fly on July 10, 2008 from 5-8:30 p.m. at Denver Botanic Gardens’ Birdhaus Bash garden party and auction. This event, which will be presented in partnership with Denver Botanic Gardens’ Associates, features nearly 150 imaginative birdhouses that will be auctioned off to the public in all their color, creativity and design whimsy. Ribbons will be awarded to entries demonstrating the latest in nesting chic, in categories such as Best in Show, Amazing American Birdhaus and Ultra Urban Natured Birdhaus. All proceeds support youth education and adult tour guide programs at the Gardens. The 2008 collection will include artfully decorated birdhouses from community members, artists, local cultural organizations, architects, Gardens staff members and dozens of celebrities – including the Gardens' Summer Concert Series artists. This festive event will feature entertainment for guests as they enjoy the natural beauty of the Gardens along with delicious food and beverages from local favorites such as Noodles & Company, Liks Ice Cream and The Cherry Cricket. Fun and educational activities will delight children, including live birds of prey from HawkQuest.
