Rooted a mile high, Denver Botanic Gardens has been a favorite Denver destination for over 55 years and is recognized as one of the top urban gardens in the country. Art and science unite in the Gardens' spectacular site, offering an unforgettable aesthetic experience for the whole family as well as a living laboratory for education and plant conservation programs.

Discover the colorful flowers and unique foliage of the plants in the South African Plaza, or picture yourself in France in the Monet Garden. Take a relaxing stroll through the serene Japanese Garden and learn about the art of bonsai, or escape to the Children's Secret Path, which features hidden pathways, pick-and-plant areas and an innovative Musical Playscape.

An array of annual events complements the experience of Denver Botanic Gardens for the hundreds of thousands of guests we welcome each year. Popular favorites include the Spring Plant Sale and Birdhaus Bash. Plus, the annual Summer Concert Series never fails to draw sold out crowds to our intimate outdoor amphitheater for unforgettable performances by some of the world's greatest musicians.

Denver Botanic Gardens is also renowned for its cutting-edge research and conservation efforts. In light of continuing drought issues throughout Colorado and the nation, the Gardens have emerged as a resource on Water-Smart Gardening and drought tolerant horticulture.

To extend the experience of Denver Botanic Gardens beyond the boundaries of the capital city, we operate two additional sites: Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield and the M. Walter Pesman Trail on Mount Goliath.

At Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield you’ll find a 750-acre native plant and wildlife with several distinct ecosystems, as well as a historic 19th century farm. Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield provides a valuable environment for education, plant research and conservation efforts, as well as nature walks and bird watching. Plus, the Pumpkin Festival, two-month long Corn Maze including the fall Haunted Houses, and winter Trail of Lights make Chatfield a key destination for annual family fun.

On Mount Goliath, Denver Botanic Gardens teams with the U.S. Forest Service and the Garden Club of Denver to maintain a high-altitude trail and interpretive site featuring alpine wildflowers and a 1,500-year-old bristlecone pine forest. Located 55 miles west of Denver on the Mount Evans Scenic Byway, Mount Goliath is an unforgettable outdoor experience that reminds of the beauty and awesome power of nature.
